Woodfins in Wyoming

After being in Wyoming for close to a month now, we are pretty well settled in and starting to roll into the beginning stages of this year-long apprenticeship. Kent has started leadership training with Tyler, pastoral meeting with the elders of Outfitter Church (Lance & Shannon), and his NAMB Church Planting training with Don.

At the beginning of the month, we experienced our first mission week. Groups came from Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana to help put on a movie night and a park party. We very much enjoyed getting to fellowship and serve alongside, and look forward to the next time they are in Wyoming.

Kent also got to tag along with Tyler to serve lunch and help brand cattle at a ranch just outside Casper. We attended two nights of the College National Finals Rodeo here in Casper and Chris Ledoux Days in Kaycee, WY. At each of these events we have had the opportunity to talk with people we have never met and begin developing our skill of listening to people, connecting with them, and anticipating an opportunity to share the gospel. 

We will be doing this a lot though out year: going to events with the intention of meeting people where they are, going into the modern day market place as Paul did ready and excited to share the good news of Jesus Christ. 

On that note, we will be going to Rendezvous Days in Pinedale! Kent and I have had this in the back of our mind since last August. We didn’t know how the schedule with the apprenticeship was going to work and if we were going to be able to go to Pinedale for 4-5 days. But the schedule is working out and Tyler is so supportive of us going this year. 

Be pray for us July 6-9, we will be in Pinedale camping out in the Church building.  Pray that God continues to open doors. (Because he has already been working ahead of us.) Pray that we make connections with believers living in Pinedale. And above all pray that we get to share the gospel with someone while we are at Rendezvous Days. 

We are absolutely stoked that we get to attend Rendezvous Days this year.  I think it might be the highlight of our summer. 

I have also updated the prayer list, and will be sending out Prayer Postcards to our partners over the summer. My goal for these postcards is to write a prayer I have for you and to give you a prayer request for you to pray for specifically. This could be a prayer request for Kent and me, a city or event, or a person that we have met in Wyoming who needs prayer. If you are interested in this, please make sure I have your mailing address.
