It is finally March, and that means that it has almost been a year since Kent and I decided that we would answers the Lords call to Plant a Church in Wyoming. This year has been- full. From the nervousness of sharing our call and vision with family and friends to the excitement of visiting the Cowboy State and then, unsurprisingly, falling in love with it, to the frustrations of not moving fast enough to where we know we are supposed to be.
So, I want to take a second to summarize the past year and what God did in our lives. He first called us away from all that was familiar to us, into a new place and a new ministry. He showed us a vision for a Church Plant in the small town of Pinedale and how it could make worldwide Kingdom impact. He connected us with people who have also been called into the same ministry that we were being called into. He gave us resources and a path, and people who were willing to love us and support us.
He showed us our weaknesses.
He humbled us.
He stopped us.
So, he could remind us, that if we are to succeed in His mission, we are going to need Him and we are going to have to do it His way.
This is a year we will remember, but not because we started a new thing or went to a knew place. We will remember this year because of what God did in our lives. It will be a milestone in our ministry and in our testimony of Christ.
I know it is cliché, but I really can look back on this year and see God growing us, preparing us, and shaping us to be His tools for expanding the Kingdom.
Over the last few posts, I have been laying out the goals that we have set for us to get to Wyoming and have asked you all to pray for us in those goals. So, the rest of this post is an update on where we are, how far we have come in the past year, and how close are we to moving to Wyoming.
At the beginning of this process, we learned that we would have to raise all our own support. We set out the goal of having 10 supporting churches, and 50 individuals all partnering together to help fund and support our goal in planting a church in Pinedale. As of right now we have all 10 churches and 29/50 individuals that have agreed to partner with us and are committed to the success of a church plant in Pinedale.
I want to Praise God and Thank Him for the people that he has put in our life. From our childhood, our teenage years, our early twenties, and even in the past 2 year, we have had people step up and say yes.
“Yes, I am going to support you and what God is doing. I am going to help you do what God has called you to and take part in an opportunity to build the Kingdom 2,000 miles away.”
I am floored by the response, and so grateful to the One who is making all this possible.
Our 2nd goal was to finish up and hand off our current responsibilities at Legacy. The Lord has provided a couple who have decided to step and take our roles, we are in the process of training them and preparing to officially hand off by the end of April.
Lastly, the item that will determine the timeline of our move is the sell of our house. We are already starting to declutter and pack up. We have been getting the house ready for market and hope to have everything finished and be talking to a realtor by the end of the month. Again, we hope to have the house on the market by the beginning of April and once we have a contract, we will have an official moving date.
The prayers are working, so please continue them. We still have along way to go but we have good momentum. Pray for perseverance for us over the next three months, as we continue to strive for the goals that we have set, and we look forward to celebrating with you when God meets all of them.
Disclaimer: The pin in the picture is not Bar Nun. Bar Nun is just north of Casper on I-25. It was just a really good picture, for the title of the post.
