As summer begins to wind down in Pinedale, we’re celebrating the incredible ways God has continued to be faithful in providing for Rendezvous Church.
First Up a Recap on out summer ministries.
Traders Row – Rendezvous Days
Hosting Traders Row again during Rendezvous Days was a highlight. With Kent now serving on the Main Street Pinedale Board, we were able to play a bigger role in welcoming vendors and visitors. Last year and this year we made sure they had access to the kitchen and shower facilities in the church. We did add a Sunday evening meal this year, where we were able to cook and serve the vendors as they were breaking down there set ups. We are hoping that next year, once renovations are done, we can have a vendor’s lounge set up for them.
Sport Camp
We also hosted our very first Sport Camp this summer—a VBS-style camp where kids learned soccer, volleyball, and cattle roping while hearing the truth of the Gospel. We had two mission teams from Georgia that week, Dudley First Baptist and South Side Baptist McRae. We had over 40 people here and we watch God use both teams to prepare this church for the next phase!
We hoped to get some progress on the building while they were here, but our main focus of the week was going to be Sport Camp. However if there is one thing that we know about ministry, is that you don’t know what God’s plan is, so you have got to be flexible.
South Side came with a team who were gifted in hospitality and construction work, and Dudley can with a Student Ministry that had experience with running Backyard Bible School. So they divided and conquered!
Sport Camp went amazing! We had 15 kids attend and every one of them had a blast!! We got to connect with their parents, had a good number of conversations about how we can minister to families in the future and look forward to serving them again soon.
The team saw our simple start to carpeting the sanctuary and GOT TO WORK!! They finished the sanctuary, two of the class rooms and would have finished the office and storage room is we had not of run out of glue.
It feels like a different building. I have a few before and after photos We’ve still got a few rooms and finishing touches to go, but the momentum is strong. This building is a product of 3 different groups coming in over the last 14 months, multiple partner donations on top of monthly giving, and God’s faithfulness in providing for this Church Plant.

Before the mission team arrived, our Launch team has decided to have an open house at the end of August. We planned this open house in faith, not quite sure how everything would get done in time, but we knew it was time to open up the doors. This building has been closed as sitting empty for at least 5 years if not longer. Since we have arrived people and noticed that something has been happing in this building and we wanted to give the opportunity to for residents to see the work that has been happening.
On August 24th we are having an open house, and block party. Here we want people to come enjoy some food, play some games, and experience community, while we get to show off the renovations and share the vision for Rendezvous Church.
This is not the official launch we still have some work to do before that, but we will soft-launching services beginning September 7! Over the next six months, we’ll continue to meet with our launch team, grow our community group, and establish the culture of Rendezvous Church.
We’re prayerfully working toward a full launch in Spring 2026. These next months are crucial, and we’re asking for prayer as we:
- Transition from home-based Bible studies to services
- Develop a discipleship plan that prioritizes gospel-centered community
- Welcome new people into the life and mission of the church
- Establish Rendezvous Church as an official Church of the SBC
