Woodfins in Wyoming

Hello everyone. I know it has been a minute since I have posted a blog up-date, but that just mean I have a lot of updates to give, and by updates, I mean praises for answered prayers.

To start off with, we had our NAMB reassessment on April 4^th. To recap, in October of 2022 we attended the Church Planter Assessment Retreat in Denver, where we were assessed to be Church Planters for the North American Mission Board for Pinedale, WY. It was determined by the assessment team that we were not yet ready to plant and needed development. They gave us a timeline of 18 months and areas that they wanted us to work on during that time.

This is what lead us to seek an apprenticeship in Wyoming, so that we could learn more about how to church plant in Wyoming. Don Whalen and Tyler Martin have been overseeing this development and felt that we were ready to reassess.

We meet over zoom with 2 members of our assessment team, where we gave a report on all we had been doing over the last 18 months and what our upcoming plans were.

We are so excited to say that we passed our assessment and are now officially NAMB endorsed church planters.

The next big praise on the list is we are finishing up our 1 year apprenticeship in Outfitter Church. Our last day is Sunday April 21^st, which mean our next praise is that we are finally moving to Pinedale on Monday April 22^nd. For a brief period of time we will be staying in the Church Building, but to round out this paragraph with a 3^rd huge praise, we have a contract on a house.

These are prayer requests that I know we have had for the 12-6 months. I want to thank you for coming and praying alongside us, and the encouragement you have been to us. Your prayers have helped us to be patience, knowing that God’s timing and plan is perfect and complete even when we cannot see it. So I just want to take a moment to thank you for your faithful prayers and praise God for his faithfulness over the past year.

We spent Easter in Pinedale and there was a fresh snow on Easter Morning

So what do the next few months look like.

We will get moved to Pinedale on Monday April 22^nd.

We will have our Monthly Bible Study on Sunday May 5^th. We are wanting to have one every month through the summer on the first Sunday of the Month. (June 2^nd, July 7^th) We also want to start core team training and discipleship that will happen on a weekly basis throughout the summer.

On May 7^th we will be flying back to Georgia for 3 weeks. During these weeks we will be visiting our partners and partnering church giving in person updates, and we will also be looking to recruit new Partnering Churches. We will also be spending some much-needed time with family and celebrating Mother’s Day, a graduation, and Georgia’s 7^th Birthday. We will be in Georgia until May 28^th.

Once we get back we will close on our house on June 10^th, and then our first summer mission team will be coming June 22^nd-28^th. We will keep rolling in July with Rendezvous Days 11^th-14^th and Henry Travis Woodfin is expected to arrive on July 29^th.

We have a steady paced summer planned. We are excited about our first summer in Pinedale and the adventure of a new house, new baby, new church. But we still need your prayers.

Pray that we will rest and abide in Christ during this busy season. Pray that we continue in seeking him and drawing close to him so we can share his love with others. Pray for the opportunity to connect with others, and opportunity to share Christ with the lost.
