Pinedale is the county seat of Sublette County Wyoming, with a population of 2,000 people in the city limits and 8,700 people in the surroundingcounty. Sitting at an elevation of 7,175 ft, located between 3 mountain ranges- the Wind River Range to the East, the Wyoming Range to the West, and Gros Ventre Mountains to the North. Pinedale is located along US Hwy 191 about an hour South of Jackson, Wy and Jackson Hole.
Pinedale is described as ‘The Real Wyoming.” I want to pull a quote from the website visitpinedale.org to help paint the picture of this town.
[Pinedale] is a hub for a variety of outdoor recreation, and the spectacular landscape is home to a multitude of amazing wildlife. With an assortment of restaurants, shops, facilities, and attractions, it’s easy to see why we call Pinedale ‘The Real Wyoming.’ It’s easy to see why we call it home.
visitpinedale.org/ About- Welcome to Pinedale

Kent and I got the opportunity to visit Pinedale at the beginning of August. this trip showed us the ministry needs in Pinedale and clarified the vision of what a church plant in Pinedale would look like. We identified three people groups in Pinedale that we will be reaching with this church plant.
The Locals- The people of Pinedale, like many Wyomingites, are a stand on your own, self sufficient people. It takes time to build relationships and develop a trust between themselves and outsiders. This mentality makes it hard to articulate the need for a savior when pulling yourself up by your own bootstraps is often times the only way to survive.
The Transplants- Pinedale is a popular place to visit, it is also becoming a popular place to live. Many people are looking to move to Pinedale from both in-state and out-of-state. When people move to a new location they begin looking for ways to connect with people and get involved with the community.
The Tourist- As we have already said Pinedale is a popular place. It draws outdoor enthusiast from all over the world to take part in its hunting, fishing, hiking, and multitude of other outdoor recreations.
We want to share the Gospel with lost people in each of these groups. We want to get involved in the community, build relationships with people, and show want it means to accept Jesus as your savior and be apart of the body of Christ. We want to disciple believers and train them up to be faithful followers who engage the lost people around them with the Gospel and expand the Kingdom in Pinedale and the surrounding communities.
