So this is a question that we get a lot as we have begun to share our heart with friends and family.
It really all started with God laying the burden on our hear for the need for the Gospel out West and the lack of strong churches in that part of the Country. As we prayed through the call to follow God into a new ministry, Wyoming was the state that kept coming up. We spoke with the North American Mission Board about the ministry needs for Wyoming. They highlighted the need for churches. 94% of Wyoming is lost. Churches are few and far between if the town or community has a church at all.

Black Dots are Communities that have no church at all.
Upon hearing this information, we were honestly shocked. We both grew up in the bible belt where there is a church on every corner, and the church was a working part of the community. We had not considered church planting before, but with this new burden laid on our heart the call was becoming clearer.
Once we decided to answer the call to church plant in Wyoming, we were put in contact with Don Whaylen who is the Church Planting Strategist for Wyoming Send Network. We did not have any idea as to where in Wyoming we were going to Church Plant. We asked that he get to know us and our ministry experience and them recommend places where he thought that we would be most effective. He gave us three places. Cheyenne, Encampment, and Pinedale.
We prayed through each of these locations and asked for God to give us vision for what ministry would look like in each place. Through this time of prayer the vision became clear, Pinedale is where we were being called to plant a church.
